Finding happiness

I just sent an email that will hopefully get things moving in my career. I'm hoping to start writing a column for the local newspaper on weightloss, health and fitness issues. I am a certified personal trainer and am trying to get a business started (well sort of trying). I should be doing a lot more, but I'm still deciding exactly what it is I want to do and how much time and effort I want to spend. I have completely changed my own body and life over the past 5 years or so. I lost over 125 lbs and have maintained my loss. I can honestly say my body is looking better every year. I've come a long way and have learned a lot. I hope that I can make an impact on at least one person's life. I want overweight people to know that it is possible to lose the weight and keep it off, but it is a lifelong process and requires lifestyle changes. I have learned to deal with food in a whole new way and have realized how much exercise and movement in general make me feel good. I have gotten to know and accept myself, all parts good and bad. I believe it is crucial for everyone to explore their own personalities and what makes them tick. Too often we let people around us tell us who we are and how we should be. True happiness comes when we can stand up and tell others who we are, what we want and need, and what we don't like and be ok with ourselves no matter what others think or say about us. Life is too short to be worrying about what other people think of you. I choose to live my life by my own rules. I treat everyone the way I would like to be treated myself. I don't do things that I will regret or intentionally hurt anyone. I live to experience this world day to day. I've learned to live in the present, not dwell on the past which cannot be changed. I learn from every experience be it good or bad. I realize that spending too much time planning for the future robs you of the present and none of us know how much time we have left. I choose to live in the moment, enjoying and savoring every new experience, and knowing that whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I wish everyone could live in the present and learn to let go of all the little things that hold us back. Live, Love, and Laugh LOUDLY!!!
